Neighbors helping neighbors by providing food and encouragement

Wimberley Crisis Bread Basket (registered in 1986 as Crisis Breadbasket, a 501(c)(3) organization) was established in Wimberley, Texas to serve economically disadvantaged individuals and households in the Wimberley area impacted by food insecurity. We provide weekly distributions of nutritious food and have operated continuously since 1986 relying on volunteers and community donations. We have no paid staff and receive no government funding.

If you need food…

We welcome you to come to our pantry during one of our weekly distribution times if you are in need of food. Based on the size of your household, you can receive a broad selection of grocery items including canned vegetables, canned beans, canned meats, bread, juice, milk, fresh meat selection, and fresh produce (when available).

Distribution times

Tuesday 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.

Thursday 2:30 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

In order to receive food from our pantry, you are required to live in the Wimberley area or have children enrolled in the WISD district. You will also need to complete a short registration form and agree to our policies and procedures.

If you want to donate food…

We have volunteers waiting at our pantry during weekly donation drop-off times to receive your food donations.

Donation Drop-off Times

Tuesday 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Donations of healthy foods in convenient sizes for grocery-style distributions to individual households are most helpful. Please check our “Top 15” list of most needed donation items.

If you want to donate money…

Since 1986, the Wimberley community and others have supported our mission through financial donations. Wimberley Crisis Bread Basket is a 501(c)(3) organization operated entirely by volunteers with no paid staff and no governmental financial support. All proceeds go to help those in need in our community through our weekly food distributions, to support food assistance efforts associated with other Wimberley community partner programs, and to defray our ongoing modest operating expenses.
